Do not book a ‘Peloton move’ until you know whether the machine is a Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, or a newer Cross Training model. The product generation changes its size, weight, electronics, approved preparation, route, and final setup.
This guide helps you identify the exact machine, choose between an experienced mover and technical service, protect the route and electronics, and define success as a stable, connected machine that passes its model-specific setup checks.
Make a model card before requesting prices
Photograph the entire machine, serial or product label, display, power connection, accessories, and current condition. Record the exact product name, generation, published dimensions and weight, destination room, and whether the machine is under warranty or service coverage. Save the current setup or moving instructions from Peloton’s setup library.
Give the model card and route photographs to every bidder. A provider who has moved many Peloton Bikes may not have the crew, tools, or technical experience for a Tread+ or a newer product generation. Ask for recent experience with the exact family and who will perform approved disassembly and setup.
In practical terms, a Bike or Bike+ is compact enough to fit routes that reject a treadmill, but its display, pedals, adjustment points, and power connection still need deliberate protection. A Tread or Tread+ places far more mass and length in the base; the handrail, display, and plastic covers are not general-purpose carrying points. The newer Cross Training range also makes the generation record important because screens, cameras, sensors, and setup features have changed. The current Peloton instructions decide which of those parts stays attached.
Decide who handles technical work
A moving crew can protect property, control a heavy component, transport it, and place it. Technical disassembly may involve displays, cables, fasteners, rails, bases, sensors, belt systems, or other parts whose sequence and test vary by model. Assign that work to Peloton, an authorized service option, or a qualified fitness-equipment technician whenever the current instructions, warranty, provider, or complexity call for it.
Put the division in writing: who powers down, removes accessories, disconnects the display, separates any approved components, bags hardware, transports each part, reassembles, updates software, calibrates, levels, and tests. ‘Disassembly included’ is incomplete if the person performing it is not identified and the setup test is excluded.
Survey both routes with the prepared dimensions
Measure the machine or approved components as they will actually travel. Check door clear widths, hall turns, stair width and landings, ceiling height, elevator door and cab, thresholds, slopes, and the outdoor path. At the destination, confirm the final position, power outlet, network access, ventilation, floor condition, and operating clearances in the current instructions.
Photographs should show every turn, not merely the staircase. A heavy base can clear each stair tread and still fail at the bottom landing. Confirm building reservations, insurance documents, parking, loading rules, and elevator protection. City traffic and limited loading windows belong in the price if the crew is billed by time.
Prepare and protect the machine
- Power down and disconnect the machine as Peloton directs; keep the power cord and safety key in the labeled parts box.
- Remove only the accessories and components identified in the current model instructions or by the assigned technician.
- Photograph each approved technical step and label cables, fasteners, and parts without placing adhesive on a display or delicate finish.
- Protect the screen as a vulnerable electronic component; do not use it as a handle or place pressure on its face.
- Secure pedals, adjustment mechanisms, deck, rails, or other moving parts exactly as the model requires.
- Use floor protection and moving equipment selected for the actual weight, balance, grip, and route.
Inside the vehicle, keep the machine or components in the orientation allowed by the manufacturer, padded from hard contact, and restrained against shifting. Do not let straps bear on the display, controls, plastic guards, or an unsupported part. Keep the parts box and inventory with the equipment rather than in a miscellaneous carton.
Compare prices by the finished result
Ask each provider to price transport labor, travel, stairs, long carry, parking or building time, floor protection, approved disassembly, technical service, packing materials, storage, reassembly, and setup testing. A low moving price may assume the owner presents a fully prepared machine at ground level; a higher price may include two technical visits and a final powered test.

Set up in the final position and test calmly
Inventory parts before assembly and inspect the machine for impact, moisture, bent connectors, cable damage, or a changed belt or frame position. Assemble according to the current setup material, level and stabilize the unit, restore all guards and safety parts, and connect to a suitable outlet. Do not carry a fully rebuilt machine across the room after the technical provider leaves.
